Customized RSS feed buttons
To be honest with you, I've never paid much attention to this button, until now. Since I've created this blog and "burned" a feed source at FeedBurner, I've used their little orange button, as default.
But today I've decided that it is time for me to look for a more appropriate feed button, to match as much as possible to my blog's theme. I did found one, which doesn't match perfectly with the theme I use, but at least it's pretty much close to it. By the way, I got it for free, without having to pay for it. Now, you may ask yourself " Where can I find such RSS feed buttons, for free? " The answer: just search on Google for " free rss feed buttons " or " free rss buttons ". Also, you can visit this blog, to download a couple of neat rss feed buttons, just like the one I'm using. You will get a pack with .png images, representing the rss buttons and a PDF version of the buttons.
All you have to do is to unzip the pack on your computer's hard-disk, select the button you like and then upload it to your blog's image folder ( if you're using WordPress, as blogging platform ).
If you use Blogger ( BlogSpot ) as blogging platform, then you'll have to host the image that represents the RSS button somewhere else, as the Blogger blogs do not have a folder for hosting images. I recommend you to host the image on any free image hosting websites, such as PhotoBucket.
Once you've signed up for your free PhotoBucket account and uploaded your favorite button there, you will have to go to the next step: placing the button on your blog. To do this, you will need to use a HTML code, which I'll provide you in the screenshot below.

NOTE: To view the image above in a larger size, please click it. I will show you what elements of the HTML code must be changed by you, so you can display the button correctly on your blog.
1. http://feeds.feedburner.com/MyPPCAdvertising - this is the first element that has to be changed. In the HTML code from the above image, I've used my own feed as example. You will have to change that link, with the link to your OWN FeedBurner feed.
2. Subscribe via RSS feed - this is the text that will appear in the left side of your browser's window, at the bottom, when you'll hover your mouse pointer over the feed button. You can leave it as it is, or you can modify it, with a text of your own.
3. http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa76/Nightstalker187/01_25.png - this is the direct link to MY PhotoBucket hosted RSS button. You will have to replace this with your OWN link, or else the image of the feed button won't display correctly.
4. Arial & 2 - the type and size of the text which will be displayed below your RSS feed button. You can use other fonts and sizes, if you wish.
5. Click the button above to subscribe - the text that will appear below your RSS button. Again, you can modify it if you want.
This are all the elements that need to be replaced, in order for your RSS feed button to display correctly. Copy the code from the image, make the necessary adjustments, and when you're done, you should see your brand new and shiny feed button appearing on your blog. If it doesn't show up, then something is wrong and you have to check the HTML code. DO NOT modify anything else in the code, excepting the elements I've highlighted in red, or you won't see any button displaying on your blog. Good luck and enjoy your RSS button!

Hi Midwest,
this button looks really good (and really big ;-). Would be a nice idea to fit the button with your blog design...
You said one can´t host images on blogspot, this isn´t correct. You can host images!
Simply create a new post (without publishing it!),then upload an image from your hardisk. Now go into Html mode to see the image URL and copy it. After that you can delete your (unpublished) post and you´ll be asked if you also want to delete the image you uploaded, say NO! Now you can use the image URL in your blog or posts to include that image, simple isn´t it?
Best regards,
