About Me

Hello dear readers and visitors. My name is Tiberius Burciu and I'm the owner of the blog you're currently visiting. I'm a 20 years-old fellow from Romania, which discovered the beautiful world of blogs in August last year and since then I'm trying to improve my skills and learn as much as possible about the blogosphere...and while I do this, I also try to earn a buck:) Read more

Who would like to be a star?

I bet that all of you guys would love to be stars. You know how all the stars are treated and what kind of lifestyles they have: big houses, fast cars, beautiful girls, awesome vacations..As I said, most people dream to be a star, but only few manage to actually become one. But did you knew that you too can be a little star? No? Then let me tell you more about this..

Few days ago ( 2, I believe ), I was checking my email and I've seen an interesting message, with the following title: " You are personally invited to appear in our book ". I know what you're thinking: this must be a scam or I might just be lucky, to be featured in a book. The correct answer is that I'm a bit lucky to be featured in a book. And not just me and not in just any book: I'm talking about other fellow bloggers that have the same luck to appear in the Fuel My Blog book of the year. What I've said may sound a bit fancy, but it's not really that fancy:)

First of all, what's Fuel My Blog? It's a community for bloggers, where you can sign up for free, interact with other blog owners and receive votes. Once you sign up, you will be able to get your own Fuel My Blog badge and place it on your blog, so your visitors and readers vote for you. I had a similar badge on this blog, but I've removed it recently, do to the fact that I had too many widgets which were slowing down the load time of the blog. Now, I'm considering placing it back, to receive some more votes from you:) As any other online community, FMB ( Fuel My Blog ) is a good place to meet new people, make some friends and show off your blog..all this for free, as I've already mentioned.

You'll probably gonna ask me: " Yeah, yeah, I got it, but what's with that book you're talking about? What's it about? " Ok, ok, I'll answer it:): The guys from Fuel My Blog want to show others who are skeptical about visiting websites and blogs and think that the Internet is just a place to get hacked, threatened and riped off, that bloggers are REAL people and that this people are having no bad intentions, but just to give information, tips and advice about different things they like to talk about. They want to show all this people out there that we bloggers are not some bunch of bad guys, waiting to scam, rip people off or infect their computers with viruses ( not that someone would think that, but just in case:) , but real people, with real lives and various goals. This is why their are publishing this book.

You want to be featured in this book too? If yes, here's what you should do:

1. Sign up for free at Fuel My Blog ( as this book is published only by the staff of FMB, you really have to be a member of this site, in order to be featured in the book )

2. You have to have a Flickr account, so you can upload a photo of yours there, to be used for the book. If you do not have one, you can sign up here for free or you can email your photo to Fuel My Blog's email address. In this photo, you must appear yourself, holding a printed version of your FMB avatar. Also, when sending that email, please do not forget to mention your Fuel My Blog username and a short description of why you like to blog and what are you blogging about.

That's it! Only 2 easy steps and you will be featured in this book! But, in order to appear there, you have to hurry up, as the entry for appearing in this book is only opened until the end of November. If you'd like to buy the book for yourself and show it to the family ( which I'm sure is asking you " Why are you spending so much time in front of the computer, surfing the web? " ), you can do so, by ordering it online from Blurb, for $20 ( plus shipping taxes ). However, this is not yet a sure price, as the guys from Fuel My Blog don't know for sure how many pages the book will have, so the price may be different, once it appears online ( and yes, it's not yet available for purchase ). The book will be available for purchase just in time for Christmas, as Fuel My Blog's staff anticipates ( this makes it a good gift for your friends or fellow bloggers ).

But what about this: if you blog about the Fuel My Blog book, you may get a copy for free! Now that's a good news:D So, let's recap: if you want to be featured in FMB book, you must upload a photo at Flickr or email it to Fuel My Blog's address. Next, after sending the photo and a short description of your blog, you can blog about this book and you may be the lucky winner of a free copy or you can buy it online from Blurb, once it will be available. Sounds easy, huh? Now, we all gonna be stars;) Not to mention that this is an evil way to advertise your blog for free >:).

    Hey Tiberius

i want to ask you how can I create my picture that shows left of the url. I don't like using the blogger picture (or logo). If you don't understand the question I mean the flag that shows next to your url when i visit our site. If you can help me please post a comment or write something about it in the next post.

    Hey Mark,

Thanks for commenting here. I would like you to give me your email address so I can send you the entire process of creating and adding an icon to your blog, as there are a few HTML codes that you have to place and the Blogger comments box doesn't allow me to use those HTML tags here, therefore I can't post them.

I'm waiting for an answer from you.
    Best regards,
    Tiberius

    Hi BlogEngage,

And thanks for your comment. Yes, that book is a good ( and free ) way to advertise a blog or even a site like yours. I believe that lots of bloggers appear in it, as this is an opportunity to make yourself known in the blogosphere.

You're welcome, was my pleasure to share the info with all my readers:)

Thank you for your kind words.

    Cheers,
    Midwest
