My tips for increasing your website ranking and traffic

Once you've built your own website or blog, you'd like to increase its search engine ranking and of course, the traffic. But maybe you don't know all those tips and tricks on how to do that, or maybe it's your first website and really don't have to many clues on how to optimize it. That's why I've created a list with some useful tips on increasing your website's traffic and search engine ranking. This are kind of general tips, but can be applied to your personal site or blog too. So, here's the list..

  • Create a site with valuable content, products or services.
  • Place primary and secondary keywords within the first 25 words in your page content and spread them evenly throughout the document.
  • Research and use the right keywords/phrases to attract your target customers.
  • Use your keywords in the right fields and references within your web page. Like Title, META tags, Headers, etc.
  • Keep your site design simple so that your customers can navigate easily between web pages, find what they want and buy products and services.
  • Submit your web pages i.e. every web page and not just the home page, to the most popular search engines and directory services. Hire someone to do so, if required. Be sure this is a manual submission. Do not engage an automated submission service.
  • Keep track of changes in search engine algorithms and processes and accordingly modify your web pages so your search engine ranking remains high. Use online tools and utilities to keep track of how your website is doing.
  • Monitor your competitors and the top ranked websites to see what they are doing right in the way of design, navigation, content, keywords, etc.
  • Use reports and logs from your web hosting company to see where your traffic is coming from. Analyze your visitor location and their incoming sources whether search engines or links from other sites and the keywords they used to find you.
  • Make your customer visit easy and give them plenty of ways to remember you in the form of newsletters, free reports, reduction coupons etc.
  • Demonstrate your industry and product or service expertise by writing and submitting articles for your website or for article banks so you are perceived as an expert in your field.
  • When selling products online, use simple payment and shipment methods to make your customer’s experience fast and easy.
  • When not sure, hire professionals. Though it may seem costly, but it is a lot less expensive than spending your money on a website which no one visits.
  • Don’t look at your website as a static brochure. Treat it as a dynamic, ever-changing sales tool and location, just like your real store to which your customers with the same seriousness.
I hope this short, but useful list with tips will help you make your site or blog better and reach new search engine rankings and receive a lot of traffic. Good luck!

The GDI Business

Have you heard about the new wave? But what's the new wave, anyway? Well, I'm talking about the new domain names wave. The first one was at the beginning of the early '90's and was the Dot com ( .com ) wave. Those who took advantage of that very profitable business opportunity are now millionaires ( seriously speaking ). They knew what to do and how to make the wave work for them, and that's the main reason why they got rich. But now, everyone has a .com domain ( well, almost everyone ). So, you can't really say that you're gonna be rich by selling the .com domains, but you'll still make money if you have a hosting company that also sells domain names. The first wave is gone, and you couldn't take advantage of grabbing your own "piece of the dot com pie ".
But no need to worry, because the second domain names wave is just about to "hit" us all. It all started a couple of years ago, with GDI Inc., from United States, a company that sells dot ws domains ( .ws ) and a very complete hosting package and which also offers you the opportunity to make money by giving this kind of domains to all those who are interested in starting their own domain selling business.
The good thing is that this business doesn't requires an enormous investment and too much time to promote it every day. All you need is $10/month and 2 hours of work per day. Sounds too much for you? I don't think it is so. And this is not a B.S. , hyped-out or pyramid scheme opportunity that we all see every single day online. You can even test free for about a week, with no payments upfront. If you don't like the idea, you simply stop using it and you WON'T be charged for that.
All you have to do is to promote your business to others, using free classified ads websites or any other free or low-cost advertising method. Do you think people won't be interested in this? Think again. Every day Internet surfers around the world are looking for a way to build their own website and to get their own domain name, plus to make some money with their new site.
But to do this, you first have to check the market and see which hosting package is right for you, how expensive it is and if your site will attract visitors, through the content you're publishing on it. Then, you'll have to pay monthly fees for your hosting package, for your domain and for promoting the site you've just built. If your site is not up to your visitors standards, you may have hard times in making money with it.
The beauty of the system offerd by GDI Inc. is that everyone needs a domain, an website and an opportunity to make money online which also has to be cheap. GDI offers you this 3 things: a domain name such as www.thisismysite.ws, a ready-made website and an opportunity to make money online. And all this for just $10/month! Other pyramid schemes and shady online businesses will ask you ridiculous amounts of cash to be invested to start up and you don't even have the guarantee that you'll manage to earn some money out of that opportunity.
GDI is not a pyramid scheme, a B.S. money making opportunity or hype. In fact it's a serious company, rated number 37 in the top 500 of the most profitable companies from United States. You don't need to take my word for good, just see how many people are taking advantage of this opportunity and now are making money.
For more details about this business, please check Google.com, use the Google search bar located at the bottom of this blog or access www.my.ws. So, will you take advantage of this opportunity? It's your call...

Having a great idea for a blog is not enough

Indeed, just by having a great idea for your blog is not enough in this days. You may plan to start a blog about something that you know about and you'd like to share it with the world, but because there are a lot of other blogs that may talk about the same thing, it would be hard for you to stand out from the rest of the pack.
I'm sure that you've seen a lot of websites and blogs on the Internet that are having a specific topic, such as making money online ( like this blog of mine ). But because everyone is using Blogger.com as a free blogging platform and they talk about the same things, this doesn't makes them unique. They're just like the rest of other bloggers, who have the same ideas, use the same templates and not offering anything else that can be considered as unique.
That's why if you have a great idea to start a blog with, is simply not enough this days. You do have to be unique. Your blog must look, feel and have quality template, graphics and content. You may write your posts better than your other fellow bloggers and others may consider you a good blogger, but if don't do something about improving your blog's aspect and look, then you're just like any other Blogger.com blogger.
I'm using Blogger.com as blogging platform too. And I'm not considering in moving out of here just yet..maybe not at all. I know, some of you will say: " But what about that "being unique stuff" you're talking about? Aren't you contradicting yourself?" No, I'm not and let me tell you why.. You see, even if you use a free blogging platform such as Blogger.com or Wordpress.com, you can still do a good job with your blog. If you like blogging about a certain topic and have a bit of creativity and inspiration in creating your own blog template and stand out from the rest of the bloggers that are using the same platform as you, then you can be unique.
That's right, you do not have to have the best hosting package or use the latest state-of-the-art hosting services or anything like that. A free hosting package or a low cost one can do the job the same way as an expensive one..well, sometimes even better :D
"But what about the downtimes and other obstacles?" Free hosts are considered not that good because may have frequent downtimes, technical problems etc. But so can happen with a paid host ( and even with those expensive ones ). No hosting service is meant to be "immortal". Today is here, tomorrow may be gone.
"You're having some weird ideas about blogging? Are you nuts or something?" I know that I may not sound as your usual blogger that tells you what to do and how and that you have to do what he did..but that's how I am ( not nuts , but different ). Why should I do just as the rest of the pack anyway? What's the point? After all, I am a maverick blogger and I'm not the kind of guy who does what others says and I'm not taking any orders from no one :D. If you don't like me, well..it's your choice :) I'm a maverick blogger and I'll continue to be one as long as I'll be blogging. I want to be and I'll be different from my other fellow bloggers.
Having a great idea for a blog is not enough...be unique, do it your way :)

Are you already blogging?

If so, money may just be a click away from you. If you already spend some time blogging, then you can say that money will come to you almost immediately and if you ask for it. And I'm not talking about getting rich overnight or anything like that..I'm strictly talking about blogs that are already running for a fair period of time and which have a steady base of readers ( or readership ). Once you have this steady readership base, then you can profit from advertisers who'd like to place their banners and links on your blog, to reach the audience of it. Although you started blogging as a hobby and not necessarily to get rich, making some profit with your blog it's not that difficult as you think.
Even for people who are blogging for months or years, the revenue from advertising may not add up to a too big amount of cash that they earn from their blogs, but still, this a way to make some extra dollars blogging ( beside affiliate programs and other money making programs ). The amount of money you can make as a blogger depends on a variety of factors. One of the most important factor that can influence the amounts of cash earned is the topic of your blog.
So, if you have a blog that covers an appealing topic in which the advertisers may be interested and would also like to reach your readers who would be interested in what they have to offer, then it's a good chance that you'll make a good income with your blog. On the other hand, if don't have a blog with an appealing topic, the advertisers may not be interested in hosting their ads and banners on your blog, so you may not earn too much cash with the blog you have.
One way in finding out if your blog is appealing or not, is to host some ads on your site. You'll see if your readers are interested in those ads and if they click it or buy something from your advertisers. Also, advertisers will see if it's worth to host their banners and ads on your blog, or not. After all, you're already blogging, right? So, you have nothing to lose if you try this step :)

Free domain names for blogs..and not only

Free domains...everyone wants a free domain for their websites or blogs, but most know that you can't get a free TLD from nowhere ( TLD - Top Level Domain ). So, if you can't get a free TLD, the chance is that you'll look for a free, simple domain ( which is not a TLD ), to hide your long and even ugly URL ( such as http://www.whateverfreesite.com/user/johndoe/index.html ).
The problem is that some free domain names are supported by ads and this may make you're site or blog look even more unprofessional than it already is considered. Now, let's clear some things up: when I visit an website, I really don't care if it is hosted free and has a free domain name, or it is a professionally built one, with a TLD. Why? Because even a free hosted site can offer you very interesting information and can have a nice design, too. So, I make no discrimination about this kind of sites. As I said, if it has good, quality content and a nice design, then it worth paying a visit.
On the other hand, ad-supported domains can annoy visitors, because some of it have pop-ups or pop-unders, and we all know how annoying this things are. No one says not to make money even from free domains, but at least a hosting company or a free domain names website should choose some non-obtrusive ways of advertising to place on their domain names.
What domain name should you use, that has no advertising to annoy your visitors? The answer is www.co.cc. The guys from CO dot CC offer free domain names ( like myblog.co.cc ) that have no annoying or visible advertisements and are easy to remember.
I'm currently using a CO.CC domain name and I'm satisfied with it. Here's the address of my blog, with the CO.CC ending: http://www.myppcadvertising.co.cc. Looks better than http://myppcadvertising.blogspot.com, right?
If you'd like to give your blog or website a more shorter domain name, then try www.co.cc. The service is free and I believe that you'll be satisfied with it :)

Review of Pro Blog Reviews

It's always nice to see that there are bloggers who are willing to offer free reviews...of course, you must ask them nicely before reviewing your blog and you shouldn't forget to thank them after they've wrote the review.
A couple of days ago, it happened to stumble upon a fellow blogger who was offering free reviews to anyone who wanted one. I thought that it would be nice to ask a review from that fellow blogger from ProBlog Reviews. So, I've requested my review and waited for an answer. The answer came a bit late, after few days, but not because the owner of ProBlog Reviews didn't wanted to answer my request. I found out that Google has found the above mentioned blog as being a spam blog, which of course, wasn't true. The guys from Google realized that they were making a mistake in rating the ProBlog Reviews blog as a spam blog.
After this short, but unpleasant incident, the blogger of ProBlog started to offer once again free, quality reviews. So, why should pay others to review your blog, when you can ask for a free review from ProBlog Reviews? I assure you that you'll be 100% satisfied with the review.

Basic Information about Niche Marketing

Sometime ago, I couldn't tell what is niche marketing..or what is a niche in the online world. Now I'm not gonna say that I've turned myself in to an expert in niche marketing overnight, but at least now I know a thing or two about niches and niche marketing. May not be too much, but for now it's enough for me.
But do you know what's a niche? Or what's niche marketing? If you don't, then it's time to find out some basic information about this subject. You just have to read this post and I'm sure you'll know a little more about niche marketing than you knew before visiting my blog. So, let's start..

In the real life and especially in ecology, a niche represents the place occupied by an organism or a population within an ecological community also known as ecosystem.
In marketing ( online marketing ), a niche represents a product or service that occupies a certain segment in a certain area of demand. Niches are all involved in niche marketing, a process that involves finding market segments that are small, but also profitable. For you to maintain a profitable quantity of sales, you have to build a solid customer base first. If you offer a quality product or service, you should have the chance to earn money and build this customer base. Why is it important to have a solid customer base and quality products? Well, I think that the answer to this question is obvious: to make money and to be recognized as a reputable company or individual.
One of the great things about being involved in niche marketing is that you don't have to compete against all those already established marketers. Instead, you have the opportunity to develop your own products and services that are needed by a certain segment of customers. And also, you'll have the time to develop your business and occupy a strong and secure position in the segment that you have choose.
Niche marketing differs from other kind of marketing strategies, because it allows you to operate almost autonomously and without having to compete against all those "big dogs" out there that tear themselves apart just to get a better spot in the domain they have their businesses and also to make more money.
Before being involved in any kind of niche marketing strategies or niche businesses, you MUST know what you're going to offer to your potential clients. It is not so simple to just put together some products and services and then to throw it on the market and then hope to start making piles of cash. It's not that easy..You should first make sure that you know almost every aspect and detail about the niche where you'll start your business. If you learn all those tricks and get all the tips needed to start, you'll sure have the luck to turn your business in to a prosper one.
You also have to use some tools that will help you determine which are the most searched phrases about the niche you're trying to get in to. It's almost the same process as finding the right keywords for your website..after all, we are talking about online niche marketing, aren't we? Beside determining the right phrases and words for optimizing your site, you should build one that proves to be a highly profitable site. Before doing this, be sure to check and determine the potential of the niche segment you're trying to start your business in. If you've just found that there's an unsatisfied customer demand, then that's the right place for you. Also, do not forget that you should market your website in an appropriate manner, if you want your products or services to be seen be the right type of clients.
In the end, I'd like to answer to a question which may be asked be some of those who've read this post: Is niche marketing really needed in a world where there hundreds and thousands of systems just like it, designed to help people make money online?
Those who know how the system works, will answer in the affirmative manner. Niche marketing is the only system that is capable to fill in the gaps in the market, by catering the unsatisfied needs of the consumers. And this needs aren't all the time taken into consideration by all the "big dogs" marketers...so it should be an opportunity for you :)

Name a domain..and make money

Yes, this is true. You can make money on the Internet by simply helping people to get a domain name for their site. And you don't have to pay anything or setup a hosting company for that. All you have to do is to visit Picky Domains, a service used by people who want to find a domain name for their site and want to get some help with finding the right one.
Maybe not all people either have time or enough inspiration to pick the right domain name for their sites. I don't say that they are stupid or idiots..that's not what I mean. What I mean to say is that they would rather prefer to seek some help in picking the right domain name for the site they've built, rather than banging their heads against the walls and not finding a good name.
So, here's the opportunity for you: just go to Picky Domains, sign up as a contributor and search for open projects. An open project is actually a request made by a webmaster who needs a good domain name for his site. Browse to those requests and pick one which you think you can come up with a domain name for it. Then, see what kind of domain the webmaster wants..which are the specifications for it: the length of the domain ( in characters ), how many words should you use when choosing the domain, if the owner wants numbers within the name of the domain etc.
Once you've read all those requirements, just suggest a several names to the webmaster, which you think would be right for what he/she asks. NOTE: You DO NOT have to buy any domain names and then resell it to the webmaster that needs it. You simply have to make a suggestion, that's all you have to do.
If your suggestion(s) are picked, you'll make money. But how? Pretty simple to understand: a domain name request from Picky Domains costs 50 bucks. Once your suggestion was picked, the webmaster who made the request will have to pay those 50 bucks to Picky Domains. And because you helped the site owner to get a domain name for his website, P.D. will split the money in half: 25 bucks for you and 25 bucks for them. Easy money, huh?
You should give it a try. You may make some cash out of this. There's no sign up fee ( that's right, signing up for Picky Domains is FREE ) and you'll be paid every month by PayPal. Good luck.

How to apply for Google Adsense?

So, you've built your website or blog and would like to make some money with it. And you've heard that Google Adsense is one of the recommended ways to monetize your website. But maybe you don't know how to apply for an account or how to get more information about Adsense. That's why I've considered that you should find out how to get a Google Adsense account. Read the lines below..
Applying for an Adsense account should be easy and quick for any webmaster who's interested in monetizing his ad space from his site or blog. All you have to do is to go to Google.com/adsense and click on apply. In the next screen from the application form, you have to select 2 options: if you are an individual who has an website and wants to monetize it, select the individual option. If you are the owner of a business, then you should select the business option. Then, you have to select the country or territory you're from.
Below the website information box, there's a space for the URL of your site. So, either you have your own site ( such as mysite.com ) or you have a blog hosted on free blog sites ( such as blogger.com, wordpress.org etc ), write the URL of it in that space. Of course, be sure that it is correct.
After writing your website's URL, select the language of it. Currently, Google supports the following languages: Chinese (simplified), Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, and Turkish.
When you're done with selecting the language, move on to the next step: the type of products from Google that you'd like to display on you site. You can choose from Adsense for content or Adsense Search Box. Adsense for content means that the ads you'll serve on your site will be targeted to your content. For example, if you have an website about cars and car parts, the ads displayed by Google will refer to other websites similar to yours. Adsense for search means that you'll have to display a search box on your site that your visitors can use it to search for whatever they need on Google. You'll get paid every time a visitor clicks on an ad that was shown after he or she performed the search with your search box. For earning more money, it is recommended to have it both ( I mean, you should serve Google Adsense ads and the search box at the same time ).
After completing your contact information, you're done applying for a Google Adsense account. All you have to now is to wait for an answer from Google ( which usually arrives in about 2 to 3 business days ) to see if you've been accepted in their publisher program.

Should I pay any taxes on my Google Adsense earnings?

Google is required to collect tax information form all those who participate in their Adsense program. So, if you're a business, you should provided Google your EIN number. If you're an individual, then you should provided Google your SSN ( Social Security Number ). If you haven't provided this information, you can still apply for a Google Adsense account, but all your payments will be withhold until you provide any tax information to Google.
If you're not from US and you have no activity there ( such as running a business, having employees etc ), then you don't have to provide any tax information to Google ( still, you should know that you have to deal with taxes in your own country ).
For more information about taxes and any other issues regarding your Google Adsense account, please visit their Help Center ( also known as Google Adsense Support Site ).
For other tax-related questions, visit www.irs.gov ( if you're from US ). If you're not from US, please check your local IRS office for more details.

Other types of scams

Yesterday I was talking about e-mail scams and how to recognize such an e-mail as being a scam. Today, I'll tell you about another type of scam: the work at home scam sites. I know that maybe some of you will think that this is an off topic post, but I assure it is not. I would like you to be informed of such things, rather than waste your time or money with it.
There are a lot of work at home opportunities on the Internet this days and some people will go and try those that sound too good to be true. If such an opportunity sounds like that, then the possibility to be a scam or not to worth your attention is high.
I'm looking for an work at home opportunity too. But rather than simply throwing away my money on some worthless, scam e-book or work at home package, I prefer to do some searches before. Some of the most known work at home scams are the data entry opportunities. There are a lot of websites promising you that you'll earn thousands of dollars per month just by typing in some data in some forms they give you. But before starting to earn those thousands of dollars, you'll have to pay a sign up fee first. This fee is usually between 35 to even 200 dollars. You are reassured that this is the ONLY fee that you'll pay and you'll never gonna be re-billed. This may be true, but you won't earn that much money. In fact, you should consider your self lucky if you even win the same amount of cash you've paid for the sign up to that data entry site.
Yesterday, I was searching for some data entry websites to see if it are honest or just some lousy scams. You may have heard about thehomeworker.org or about inetdataentry.com. This websites are considered as being a waste of time, therefore a scam. You won't gonna be paid and that promise of earning thousands of dollars per month just by typing some data in some forms online, is just a fluff. Once you'll gonna pay that singing up fee, you'll get either a worthless e-book or information, or you'll not going to get anything at all! So, you're left with that e-book to deal with it and to sell it away to other suckers that will want to make easy cash from data entry sites.
But the above websites are not the only one considered as being scams. You just have to search on Google for "data entry scams " or to enter the name of a website that deals with data entry and then add the word " scam ". Here's an example: " thehomeworker.org scam " or " thehomeworker scam ". A lot of this sites that promise you big money, will eventually fail to deliver you that.
You'll be happy to earn 1 lousy buck per every form completed, while the scammer will win a lot more money by selling his crappy " money making opportunity ". If you feel that you've been scammed be a certain data entry website, you can make a report for that site to the guys from ScamFreeZone.org or to BBBOnline.org or to any other website that fights against scams.
Also, you can send a scam report to the hosting company that hosts the respective site on its servers, to take action against it. Don't let the scammer get away so easy! After all, you paid for that stupid and crappy information he gave you, so it's your right to fight back and ask your money from that scammer. For sure, he won't be happy to do it, but if you force him and file a report on his name to those various anti-scam sites and to his hosting company, he'll have to give you the money back.
If you'd still like to make money online from doing some data entry, search on Google for " legit work at home opportunities " or " legit data entry websites ". Or you can chose any keyword or key phrase like those I've mentioned in the sentence before.
There are also some legit work at home sites, that could help you make some money online by filling up surveys. Even though you'll have to pay a registration fee, this sites are not scams. At least, I haven't found any bad reports or comments about it on the Internet.
One of this non scam sites is SurveyScout.com. You can find a couple more, if you search a bit on Google :) Good luck making money online and stay away from scams.

I'm a millionaire

You're curious to know how I got to be a millionaire? Well, while I was reading my e-mails today and a couple of days ago, I saw a bunch of e-mails stating that I won a lot of cash at lotteries ( about 2 to 3 million dollars ). Some other e-mails were stating that I've received a large donation, that has to be deposited into my bank account, while others declared me as the only "legal" owner of a large amount of cash that belonged to a rich guy from Nigeria, Germany or some other countries in the world, who unfortunately died in a car crash, plane crash, or was declared missing in a foreign country, and who has no other relatives to whom he could give the money to.
Now, really, let's be serious. Who would be so damn idiot to believe this scam e-mails?? And since when does BMW for example organizes lotteries or gives away cars to a "lucky winner"? And since when I've signed up to participate at the Swiss Lottery?! I feel sorry for all this scammers out there who think that I'm so stupid or I have some kind of amnesia and I don't know what I'm doing online.
C'mon people! Honestly, I NEVER believed this kind of craps and I will never gonna believe it.
I would really wan to know when did Microsoft organized a lottery and gave away a grand prize of a couple of million dollars anyway?? If someone knows about such a fact, please let me know :). But we all know this things are just scam e-mails, meant to trick some poor, unlucky and very naive Internet surfers, who would really believe that they won the grand prize. Yeah, right!
My recommendation is not to believe such e-mails. It are composed by spammers and scammers who'd like to steal your money or your private data. Whenever you see such an e-mail in your inbox, just delete it! Never-ever answer it or send any cash or checks to those who pretend they are some agents from a lottery or from a company such as Microsoft, BMW or any other companies like this. Because they're not!
It is easy to see that an e-mail is a scam by simply looking at the e-mail address from where it was sent. A respectable company will NEVER send an e-mail using free e-mail providers ( Yahoo Mail, Google etc ). All this companies have its own e-mail addresses and own domain names. Also, any employee at a company like those would have his own personalized e-mail address, using the domain name of the company where he or she is employed. And I'm talking about those employees who have jobs like directors, CEOs or any high rank job.
So for example, if you would be an employee at a certain important company ( let's say Company X ) and you'd be a director, you would have your own e-mail address such as johndoe@companyx.com . And if your Company X would organize a contest or something, you'd normally have to announce it at TV, radio or on the internet, so people to find out about it and sign up. After the winner is announced, he should receive an e-mail from your company, and to be announced on TV too. So you'd sent this winner an e-mail thanking him/her for participating to your contest and saying "Congratulations" to him, using your own e-mail address, not a free one. That's why a company pays for domain names and webhosting or for its personalized e-mail addresses, so it could be considered a reputable company.
So, next time you will receive such a stupid e-mail, please just throw it to the thrash folder :D Don't fall for this kind of cheap tricks. Don't send money, talk to the scammers or go to any foreign countries to " pick up your prize or meet with agents ". This are just fake information, from guys who'd like to steal your money of even harm you! Take care. Be safe.

Basic Information about RSS and RSS feeds

What's RSS?
Well, for those who don't know for what RSS stands for, I'll tell you: RSS stands for Real Simple Syndicate or Rich Site Summary. To syndicate means to republish an article, post or information that comes from a source such as a website or blog.

What is it used for?
RSS is used to publicize the latest news from a certain website. So, every time when a webmaster posts something new to his website or blog, the news will be available on the RSS feed and can be read with various feed readers by those who either are subscribed to the site or blog that published the news, or are simply visitors of that certain site. An RSS includes the title and a summary of the posts and information from a site and even photos ( if there are any within the posts ).

Why should I use RSS ( advantages )?

1. It gives you the latest updates from the site you like. So, no matter that it is a weather update, a new song or movie release, or a new software upgrade, you are informed immediately about this, so you can check the website for more details and see what's about.

2. It saves your surfing time. Since it displays just a summary of the article published on the source site, it saves your online time and lets you decide on more important things. If you want and are interested about the information provided by that RSS feed, you may want to visit the website. If you're not, then you haven't wasted your time visiting that site and reading the whole content of it.

3. It offers you the option to subscribe. If you really are interested in receiving news and updates from a certain site, you can subscribe to it either by feed aggregators or by e-mail. And you have the power to control which sites you'd like to subscribe to and when to do it.

4. It saves you from receiving junk and spam mails. Even though you are required to sign up using an e-mail address for a feed aggregator, you'll not going to receive spam messages. And your privacy is kept safe.

5. No one will ask you why you have unsubscribed. That's right. When you use a feed aggregator, no one will ask you why you have unsubscribed. You don't have to tell this to anyone. You simply delete the RSS feed that you don't want to be subscribed to from your feed aggregartor and that's it. Unlike e-mail subscriptions, where you're asked to say why you'd unsubscribe and confirm this action...

6. You can use RSS as a marketing tool. If you have an website that is about a certain product or information which is sold on the internet, you can keep your users informed with any new change that appeared during their last visit. This way, you'll not going to send spam messages to your subscribers and clients. It is also a way to reach a targeted audience, by getting some few extra subscribers and potential clients that really are interested in your information or product. Those who are already subscribed, will receive your updates every time you make it.

The disadvantages of RSS. Which are this?

1. Some users will prefer to receive e-mail updates over RSS updates.

2. Graphics and photos do not appear in all aggregators, excepting few of it. So you may not be able to see those elements while reading a new update from your favorite website, which includes some photos or graphic elements.

3. The identity of a feed can some time be confusing, due to the fact that a feed reader ( aggregator ) does not displays the exact URL of the site it is from.

4. Publishers of this feeds are unable to see how many subscribers they have and also won't be able to find the reason why some unsubscribe, a fact which is important, because would help then improve the content of their sites and they way they advertise it.

5. Since it's a fairly new technology, not all sites support it.

How to use the RSS?
For starting to use the RSS technology, you need 2 things: an RSS feed and an RSS aggregator or reader. An RSS feed comes from an websites that supports this technology. An RSS aggregator is a tool that is used to read the RSS feeds from their source websites. This reader scans and collects data from the latest updated feeds from the world wide web.

An aggregator is either a program that has to be downloaded and install on to your computer so you can use it, or it can be an online one. The downloadable readers are usually paid ones, meaning that you have to pay for it before using it. On the other hand, online aggregators are free to use..usually. All you need for an online one is to have an account to it, so you can use the services provided.

How to use an RSS aggregator?
Don't know how to use one? Please look at those 3 very simple steps below to see how it works.

1. Choose an RSS aggregator you'd like to use. For beginners, an online one is recommend, due to the fact that is more user-friendly.

2. Scan the homepage of a certain website for the RSS or XML button, to find the source code of the feed. Copy this code correctly.

3. Paste it in your aggregator, which should have a special space or box for doing this.

Once your done following this 3 steps, you can start reading the updates coming from the source website of the RSS feed that was scanned.

RSS it sure is an innovation in the information field and we can expect to better improvements in a very near future, because this piece of technology has become popular among the web users and webmasters from all over the WWW ( World Wide Web ).

ScriptLance

I know that most of you that are surfing the Internet this days are looking for a way to make money online. So maybe you're not that patient to wait for your blog to make some money for you..or maybe you don't even want to start one. You're not forced to start blogging to earn money online. After all, you choose what's the best for you.
For those who already own a blog, but are not making significant amounts of money from it yet and also for those that would like to earn some extra bucks in an easy way, I recommend ScriptLance.com. Even though I've mentioned that you can earn some money in an easy way, this opportunity is not a "get rich quick scheme " or some illegal and crappy money making website that will pay you 0.000001 cents/click and once you'll reach your minimum payment for withdraw, you're never gonna see the money! Nope, not with this one.
So, what's ScriptLance? Tell me more about it.. Script Lance is an website recommend for all those guys and girls out there on the Internet that know a thing or two about web designing, PHP programing, ASP, HTML, data entry, data typing, translation, Drupal etc. Everything that is related to computer and programing, you find it on that website.
It's a place where individual webmasters and companies meet with programmers, web designers, copywriters etc and make deals on various projects.
What's that? I'm confused and also I'm not a geek. Be more specific please..
OK. I'm not a geek either or some hotshot programmer that knows everything about HTML or any other programing language, so I'll try and put it simple. As simple as I can, actually. Let me give you an example:
Let's suppose that a company or an individual webmaster needs someone to complete a project for him, such as a data entry project. He'll post the project at Script Lance and will let people bid on it, until he finds the right man for the project. After the bidder wins, he'll have to complete the project in the time frame mentioned to the project owner and also to do it correctly. Once he does this and the owner is satisfied with the work, he'll pay the bidder ( the bidder is also known as freelancer ). The payment can be a certain amount of money ( 50, 150, 300, 1000 dollars etc ) or can be a fixed salary on a per month, per week, per day or per hour basis, depending on how the bidder choose it or how the project owner set it.
What's a bid? Do I have to buy something from Script Lance? NO. It's not that kind of bid that you see at auctions. Here, at SL, you do not have to buy projects or anything else. When you bid, you actually make an offer to the project owner and tell him that you can do the job in X days for X dollars ( where X refers to the number of days until project is completed and to the amount of money you ask for the project ).
So, for example, you tell the webmaster who has the data entry project I've mentioned in the example above, that you'll do the job in 3 days for $100.
Sounds interesting. How can I sign up? Is it a fee involved in this? Nope, there's no fee involved. If you sign up as a programmer ( freelancer ), there are no costs for you. It's FREE. For webmasters who have a project, there will be some fees, such as for posting the project on the Script Lance website. For programmers, the only fee involved is the one when you'll withdraw the money from your Script Lance account. Depending on how you choose to withdraw the money, the fees that apply are different. Money can be withdrawn via check, PayPal, E-Gold, MoneyBookers and wire transfer.

Learn how to make money blogging

There are a lot of ways to make money with your blog, such as affiliate programs, Google Adsense ads, or any other program that will help you earn money from your blog.
For some full time bloggers or for companies that use blogs to make money or to increase the traffic to their websites, there are two main models of making money blogging: selling advertising space to a number of other companies or brands that want to advertise on the respective blog, or selling advertising space just to one single company or brand that wants to reach that blog's audience. Of course, even you can do the same thing: either promote a couple of money making programs on your blog, or use the blog to promote just one that you like the most and which you think it's useful to you and others and will help you generate some revenue from it. You don't have to own a company or to be a guru in the blogging field to see that the things above, about selling advertising, can be applied to a personal blog too.
If your goal when you blog is to sell advertising and not to promote other programs, you can do this either by letting someone else help you recruit the advertisers for your blog, or you can do it by yourself and keep all the profits :D . Many people that sell advertising space on their blogs, besides using private advertising deals, also use Google Adsense to monetize their blogs. But as some people will notice, using only Google Adsense ads won't be exactly the best idea, because sometimes you'll not going to earn the amounts of cash that you've dreamed at.
This is why you should try and sell some advertising space through private deals, to the companies or websites that would like to advertise on your blog. It may be a slow process at the beginning, but this turns to be very lucrative, once the things get going. If you're a bit experienced in the sales field and know how to "struck a deal " with an advertiser, then you most likely gonna make some money from this selling stuff.
But the problem with selling advertising space to individuals and companies through this kind of deals is that before even starting to rent your space, you must have a solid readership for the companies or individuals to consider making you an offer. And this may last for a couple of months, before reaching to a steady and sizable readership and before making money blogging, so that's why you should be patient.
Of course, you can choose at any given time to start making money blogging from other resources too, such as affiliate websites or selling some of your own products ( if you have any ). You just have to see what's the right way for you to make some bucks while blogging :) Good luck.

Are you a blogging addict?

Have you ever wondered of you're a blogging addict? Some bloggers simply can't do it if they do not blog for a day or two. Some others, balance the time spent on the internet with the time spent with family, friends or various other activities, that do not involve surfing the Web or spending time at their computers.
How can you tell if you're starting to become an addict? Well, this should be easy. First of all, in my opinion, you'll start to check, double-check or even triple-check the stats, earnings and the performances of your blog, every hour. It's not a bad thing at all to check stats, but what's the reason of checking it or re-checking it every hour or every 10 minutes? There won't be anything special to see and no wonders will happen, if you do this.
Next, you'll probably start to forget that you have a real life too. You see, having a blog it is considered a responsibility too, because you have to maintain it, promote it and take care of it every day ( just like you'll do with a kid..I mean taking care of him :) ). You'll start to keep looking for new information, new ways to promote your blog, new sources of inspiration for future posts, but you'll also start to forget that blogging shouldn't be all work and no fun. So, instead of going out with your friends or doing other offline activities, you'll simply dedicate a lot more time to your blog, which is good, but also bad. It is good, because by putting more work in to it, you'll make it bigger and better and it may turn in to a well-known blog. It is bad, because this may affect your real life. You can even start to ignore your friends, family or other things that you usually liked doing it.
Blogging as a hobby is OK. But blogging as a habit or as an addiction is not OK. To see if you're a blogging addict, why not to take a test of blogging addiction right now? Just click HERE to test yourself. NOTE: Results may scare you!
I took this test too. My results: 40% blogging addict...is it much...or not that much? I really don't feel like being addicted to blogging. It's rather a hobby for me ( seriously speaking! ).
So..how to get rid of such a thing as blogging addiction? My advice is that you should take a day or 2 off your computer and go spend your time with friends, family or taking some short trips in nature. Go visit a museum, a National Park, or do anything else that DOES NOT involves computers and Internet...and, yeah, please don't forget to leave you're laptop at home while doing this activities ( if you have one ).
But the stats of my blog will go down! I don't say that you should take a 1 year blogging break or something like that...do it only if you really need it ( but of course, not that long :) ). Leave a period of time between updating your blog. This way, and if you have interesting and good content on your blog, your readers and visitors won't loose their interest in visiting your blog and will not unsubscribe from your RSS feed.
If you'll continue to keep blogging, without take some well-deserved breaks, you'll go NUTS! And you'll end up having just one family and one single friend: your own laptop or PC! Which is not good...So please take care..

What's a Search Engine, anyway?

The main purpose of a search engine is to index the millions and millions of web pages that exist today ( and that will appear in the future, too ). When you look for a certain keyword or key phrase, the search engine scans its database, where it has all the information and pages containing that specific keyword, and then displays a list with the most relevant results for that keyword or key phrase.
The first search engine-like tool appeared somewhere in the 90's, when Alan Emtage, a student from McGill University in Montreal, created a search engine that was able to search and locate information available on the FTP servers. The files from those servers where available to anyone that needed it, but someone who didn't knew the exact location of the server or of a certain file on the server, couldn't access it without the help of Archie ( the search engine-like tool ). Archie was scanning its database looking for the information related to what the user needed and gather it in a list and display it to the end-user. People were using this search engine in order to match and locate words or phrases that would help them access the right information from a server.
In our days, Archie is no longer a viable search engine, because it's too old. But his creation was the first step in developing search engines, as the public became more and more aware of the existence of the Internet and the need of a such tool was becoming visible.
The first important search engines that appeared between 1994 and 1995 were Lycos, WebCrawler and AltaVista. Also, Yahoo! appeared at about the same time, but Y! is not actually a search engine. Indeed, it has a search engine function as we all know, but Yahoo! is mainly a kind of directory of data and articles, which also offer e-mail and webhosting services.
Today, the competition between the search engines is continuous. There are thousands of search engines on the Internet right now, but only some are really important and really BIG. The small group of highly-rated search engines is responsible for the 90% of all searches done daily.
I think that a lot of people that use the Internet and the search engines are asking themselves " If the search engines are free to use and no one is asking a single cent for using it, how would it financially still be alive? " It's a simple answer to this question: the search engines stay alive through generating traffic and selling advertising. The more traffic a search engine has, the more money will make from advertising space that is sold to the interested advertisers, who'd like to promote their websites and products with the help of that respective engine.
Right now, the search engines are competing to develop the best algorithms and formulas used to evaluate the web pages accordingly to the keywords and key phrases use during a search.
If you want your site to appear on the top spots of a SERP ( Search Engine Results Page ), you must be sure that the site is optimized in such a manner that will allow the search engine to find it fast and easily, using the keywords and key phrases that you want it to be found for.

Blog Rush...or how to bring some visitors to your blog

Being a blogger for about 2 months, one of my main tasks is to bring traffic to my blog. And I'm always looking for free ways to get some visitors to see and maybe even read the blog I author. So far, the only method that really is useful and brings some traffic to my blog ( about 30 visitors per day ) is Link Referral.
30 visitors/day may not be too much, but this is a new blog and I don't expect to receive massive amounts, especially by using free traffic bringing methods. I'll keep using this free methods until I'll raise some cash to start advertising this blog through some low cost advertising companies.
Now, about the new traffic generating method I've found out about..I usually visit John Chow's blog ( http://www.johnchow.com ) almost everyday, to see what's new on it. I don't think that is necessary to repeat once again who's John Chow..but for those who don't know JC, he is one of the most known bloggers of the world, who's making a lot of money blogging.
And today I saw a post about an website, called BlogRush.com. What is BlogRush? It is a blogger's community and a way to get some free traffic to your blog. It is not a paid service, it is not an autosurf website or a free ad or banner exchange network...but it's still free to use it:).
How would BlogRush help me and my blog? BlogRush will help you by delivering you some free and even targeted traffic to your blog. All you have to do is to sign up for a FREE BlogRush account, to fill in the details about your blog and then add a widget to your site that will display links to other posts from other blogs related to yours. When other posts from other blogs will be displayed on your blog, your own posts will be displayed on other blogs from the same category with yours, which mean that you'll have the chance to get a lot of visitors.
You can also refer other fellow bloggers to this free service and earn even more exposure and traffic for your own blog. Just visit the BlogRush.com website for more details about this interesting service.

Google Adsense Payment Method

If you wanted to know how you can withdraw the money from your Google Adsense account and get it into your pockets, read the lines below to find out which payment methods are used by Google to send you the money.
The most used way to withdraw money from your Google account is by check. There are two types of deliveries for those checks: the standard one, through which the check requested by you is sent by Google via normal postal service and which is free. And the second one, via courier service ( such as DHL ), which is charged with 24$. If you opt-in for receiving your check(s) via normal postal service, the service is free, but is also a bit slower.
Your check will arrive to you in about 2-3 weeks from the day it has been sent from the Google HQ ( Headquarter ). If you're OK with the normal post service delivery and you don't mind waiting for your check(s) to arrive in 2-3 weeks, you can select this method as your payment method, once you're logged in your Google Adsense account.
How to choose payment methods? First, as I said, you need to log in to your G.A. account. Then, you should look for a link of your user profile. Once you saw it, click it and search for a box that refers to payment details. Then choose which one suits you better: the free delivery or the paid ( and much faster ) option. After choosing the option, don't forget to save the changes.
What about the special delivery option? You haven't told me about it..
Yeah..that's right :) The special delivery option is for those that don't like to wait for 2 to 3 weeks for their check(s) to arrive. Being a special delivery service, this is not a free option, as the first one mentioned here. You'll be charged with 24$ for your check(s) delivery. But, being sent by DHL ( one of the most known courier company of the world ), will get to you in about 5-10 days since it was sent from Google.
If you choose the option above, you'll have to contact DHL to make sure that they offer courier services in your area and to see what's the correct format of your address that will be included on the envelope of the check Google will send you. For more details on DHL's services you can check their official website at www.dhl.com.
If you need more information about payment methods or anything else related to Google's services, check the Google website. The web address for Adsense is http://www.google.com/adsense.

Peer Gomez

So, what's Peer Gomez? Is it a way of making money online? Or is an actor or some star from Hollywood? The answer: it is a way of making money online and not a star from Hollywood. How this works? Do I need an website to make money with PG? Nope, you don't need an website to earn money with this opportunity. The only thing you need is a computer and access to Internet. It would be a good idea to have this Internet access from home and not from an Internet Cafe.
But why from home? Don't worry, there's absolutely nothing illegal in this. You need an Internet connection from your home so you can earn money without watching the watch from minute to minute as your time flies by, as it would happen in an Internet Cafe.
Ok, but you haven't told me what do I have to do..?! Oh, yeah, you're right.. First of all, you'll have to sign up for Peer Gomez. Then, in order for you to get paid, you'll need a PayPal account or a MoneyBookers account ( which are free, like the Peer Gomez account ). Once you've completed this first 2 steps, you'll need to download a little application, that will run in the background of your computer and will not affect the way your computer performs ( and has no viruses or spywares attached either ). After downloading the application, you have to install it and make some settings, for it to work properly. The settings you'll do are not related to the settings made to your computer. You won't have to change the way your computer works. Instead, the settings will be done ONLY inside the application you've downloaded and installed previously.
How to I make money with it? So, you're done with installing and setting the Peer Gomez application and now you'd like to know how can you make money? It's easy: you simply let your computer on and surf the web as you normally do it every day ( it's the same way the AGLOCO viewbar works ). NOTE: for you to earn money, you MUST be connected to the Internet. Once you shutdown your connection, the application from Peer Gomez will stop processing any work units sent to the Peer Gomez servers from your computer. After re-enabling the Internet connection, the application will start working again.
What's a work unit and what does my computer sends to the PG servers? You shouldn't be scared by the fact that your computer sends something away to the Gomez servers. Because it is not sending away personal information or any other confidential information stored in it. It simply notifies the PG servers that it is online and it is "working" ( working - processing the data the Gomez servers needs. Once again, are NOT personal data ! ). A work unit represents a certain part of the work your computer does.
You're keep telling me about information that are not personal. What are it about, then? The information..or the work...transmitted by your computer are related to geographical location of your computer, the way your computers performs when it is receiving work units...mostly, this are just technical data, that's why are not related to any personal information. THIS ARE STRICTLY TECHNICAL DATA! ( I'm repeating this that often so you understand that you're not going to be hacked or something like that ).
Ok, I understand how this works. If I'd like to know more and to sign up, where should I go? Glad you asked! You can go to Peer Gomez.com and read more about how you can make money by simply leaving your computer on and online..or you can sign up right away! If the link provided to PG doesn't work for any reason, you can use the banner below for registering to Peer Gomez.

Testing Google Adsense

After a long time of being rejected by Google, I was finally accepted in their publisher program. I've received the good news today, just when I was checking my e-mail.
I'd like to see how much money I'll make with Google ads on my blog and if this ads are going to perform better then the ads already served here. Of course, I'm not expecting to make thousands of dollars per month. Why? Because this blog does not receives enough visitors ( just yet ) in order for me to make a serious income from Google Adsense ads or other ads that are displayed on this blog.
But after I'm going to invest some cash in promoting this blog with the help of some low-cost advertising methods, I'll be able to see some income from all this ads. Again, I'm not aiming to earn a fortune every month with this blog. I consider that it's to early for me to talk about serious revenue for now.
I've started this blog not to get filthy rich with it or anything like that, but to help more Internet surfers to make money online. I'm not a greedy blogger, that created this blog just to earn buckets of money for himself, without caring for his readers.
Now, back to Google Adsense.. As I've told you few lines above, from today I'm able to serve Google ads on my blog and see how it perform. I'm not doing anything illegal to earn money from Adsense ( clicking my own ads, asking others to click my own ads, using bots to earn more money etc ) and I hope that the guys from Google won't close my account :)
As you all know, Adsense is a good way to make money online and you should try it too. If you have a blog or website and want to earn some money, why not to sign up for it?
It's free, fast and you can make money very easy. Be sure to read the terms of service and the rules before applying for a Google Adsense account, in order not to have troubles in the future. I wish you good luck.

Your 6 ideas for some viral marketing

You need a viral marketing campaign? Don't know how to start one? I have 6 ideas for your to get you started. Take a look at the list below..

1. Purchase the branding rights for an E-book. Or create one of yourself. Then allow people to give it away for free to others. This people then will pass it free to some other people and the e-book will get to more and more persons, spreading on the internet virally. Don't forget to include in that e-book the address of your site or some way to attract people to it.
2. Start a discussion board or a forum. Allow people to use your forum to promote their own websites or ideas. Maybe some don't have an website, so it would be a good place to start promoting their ideas. Also, don't forget to include some of your banners or ads in the forum, that people can use it to promote it.
3. Do you like web designing ? If so, you can create a couple of banners or any kind of graphics for your site, blog or forum that others can use it when they would like to make banner exchange with you. Back in business :)

Hi everyone. I'm back. I've just returned home and I'm ready to start blogging again. I had enough time those 3 days while I was away, to clear my mind and think a bit at what other posts to make. I also had time enjoy a life with less noise, less pollution and less pesky and annoying things.
You may wonder what I've done during my short blogging break? Well, as I said in a previous post, 3 days ago, I went to visit my grandparents and I helped them with harvesting the grapes.
It wasn't too much work to do, it only took us all about 3 hours to get it done. The thing is that the vineyard was small and that's why we finished it that fast. My grandparents could do this job by themselves, but they are old and they needed help. So, they told me and my father to go help them get the job done fast.
I'll be away once again this Friday, at the same location. But this time not for work. This time I'll go meet a friend of mine, who decided to come for 2 days at the country side to relax. He asked me if I'd like to join him, and I said that I will.
But 'til I'm leaving again, I'll start making some posts on this blog, so you can find out some new and interesting things about PPC advertising, affiliate marketing, Google Adsense or anything that I find useful to be mentioned here.
So, let's start blogging...

Taking a short blogging break

I thought it would be nice to let you all know that I'll take a blogging break for about 2 days. I will not be home for the next 2 days or so. I'm going to visit my grandparents, who live at 60 km away from my hometown. I haven't been to visit them from a long period of time and now I've decided that it's time to do it. Also, they've insisted to come and help them with some work they have to do.
So therefore, in the next 2 days ( because I don't think I will stay longer than that ) this blog will not gonna be updated with any new topics or posts. As soon as I'll come back home, the blog will be updated with some fresh content.
I think that this short blogging break will help me clear my mind a little bit and gather some interesting information in the meantime. Plus, some fresh air didn't harmed no one :). You all know what living in a big town means, right? All that traffic, all those cars and most of all, the noise and pollution...My town, which is called Pitesti, may not be such a big one, but it still is an important town here in Romania. So the above things about cars, pollution and noise applies to it too.
Even though I'm used to this lifestyle, I don't mind take a few days off and enjoy the country life and the nature :)
This being said, I wish you all a good day or a good night and take care of yourselves. Tomorrow I'm leaving Pitesti and I'll be back in about 2 days. The blog will be updated when I'll return. Til then, bookmark it or subscribe to the RSS feed or via e-mail, to stay updated with the posts made by me. See you all in 2 days :)

Generate profits with PPC in your affiliate marketing quest

As you may already know, from some of my early posts, PPC advertising is one of the most cost-effective ways of targeted internet advertising. It is a good way for advertisers to promote their services and products to a specific category of visitors, that are really interested in what they are offering. Also, PPC is a good opportunity for website owners to make money by serving PPC ads on their sites.
How does a search engine works and how does an website gets listed there? Search engines create listings and are displaying it in a certain order. What dose influences this order? Well, the order of listings is determined by how much an advertiser paid for to advertise his website. The one who have paid a bigger amount of money or has the biggest bid for a certain keyword or key phrase, will rank as number 1 in a listing in search engine results pages. Those who have bid less, will occupy the next spots, such as number 2, number 3....number X, which will also influence the number of visitors that a site receives from search engines.
How to make money using PPC ads along with other affiliate programs? Most of the affiliate programs that exist on the web this days only pay after a sale was made or a lead delivered after clicking through your site. The income will variate, because will be dependent of the affiliate site's content and of the traffic you receive to your own site.
So, why should I use PPC ads on my site? The answer is simple: you'll make money a lot easier than using other kind of affiliate marketing programs. You can either use only PPC to make money on you site, or you can use also PPC ads and affiliate websites. A PPC advertising agency ( such as Google, Bidvertiser or AdBrite ) will not pay you per action or per sale, but will pay you much faster: per click. So, every time a visitor clicks on your PPC ads you're serving on your website, you'll make a certain amount of money, according to how much an advertiser is willing to pay for a click on his ad.
Being an affiliate of a PPC search engine or advertising agency is an easy way to make more money with your website. You will be compensated 30% to 80% of the advertiser's bid amount, every time a visitor clicked on ad that you serve on your site.
Not only that you can earn money with PPC ads, but you can also advertise your website with it. Some PPC websites allow you to use your earnings made as a publisher to advertise your own site, as an advertiser, without you being obligated to make additional deposits. This way, you'll have the opportunity to receive more targeted traffic and visitors that are willing to buy from you and who are interested in what you have to offer.
What are the key benefits of using PPC in your affiliate marketing quest? Not only that you'll make more money, but you'll also be able to have some extra income, aside of what you're already earning..and of course, lifetime commissions once you refer some other webmasters to the PPC search engine.
It's not a waste of time to know how to make some extra money with your affiliate programs and websites, but it is rather having some multiple streams of income. It doesn't matter how much money you'll make ( for some it really doesn't matters ) since you will improve your financial status.
It is better to know a thing or two about how to use PPC advertising and make profits, than missing big bucks for not knowing how to use it...

Back Online...finally

I'm glad that I finally managed to implement the new template to my blog. As you may noticed already, it's a template that I've used before changing it with the 4 columns one.
"Why are you changing your templates so often?" Well, because I want to give my blog a new look. But from now on, I'm not going to change any design or any template for this blog. Until I get a customized template, the way I want it to be, I'm determined to quit making changes so often. I tried to give my blog a fresh and new look by changing my previous template ( which was this one ) with a 4 columns one. Although the new template was nice, some visitors reported me that they were having some difficulties in reading the content of the posts, because the characters were a bit to small. Of course, I was able to modify the text size for the posts, but then I thought that if the size is big, the text may not fit properly in the text column.
So after just about 4 or 5 days of using the 4 columns template, I've switched back to this one that you see now. And this will remain until I'll be able to get myself a customized template, built to suit my needs...and tastes :)
It wasn't that difficult for me to change the previous template with this one. The only problem was that while I was trying to save this template and override the old one, an error was keep popping up here at Blogger.com. I went to the "Help" page at Google Groups and posted this error there, in order to find out what is about.
I had no time to check back and see if someone answered to my post at GG ( Google Groups ), but when I made a new attempt to override the old template with this new one, it worked..finally! Probably that the error was solved or probably I was lucky this time :P. Anyway, I'm glad that I made it and changed my template. I promise you that there won't by any further changes made to this blog regarding its design.
The only change that will be made..and will be for good..is when I'll have my own personalized template. Til then, this will be the template used for this blog. If there will be any changes, this will be minor, such as adding or deleting boxes from the 2 sidebars of my blog.
Take a couple of seconds and take a look at this template to get used to it. And please don't forget to subscribe via RSS feed or e-mail, in order to get the latest hot topics from My PPC Advertising.
More interesting topics and posts will follow in the next days, beginning tomorrow. So be sure to stay updated by subscribing to this blog's RSS feed. TIP: It's totally free and this is the only way to find out what's new in the My PPC Advertising world :)

Short maintenance time

As you may see, I'm changing the look of this blog ( again.. ). The last template I had, the one with 4 columns, was inappropriate in some visitors opinions. They were complaining that the characters were to small and that they couldn't read the text of the posts to well. So, as a response to their complaints, I'm going to switch to a better, but simple blog template..the one I had before changing it with a 4 columns one.
Til I'm gonna implement the new template, this blog will be under maintenance for an undetermined period of time ( I should be able to finish the implementation in a couple of minutes ). Meanwhile, you can browse through the posts that I've made until now, to find out how to make money online blogging.
Be back very soon....Please wait while I'll come with a proper template..Thanks for understanding.

Make your link submission job an easy task

So, you've just created a new site or a new blog. The next thing you'd do is to submit it to some directories, in order to get some traffic to it. But you may not have either enough money or enough time to do that. And you also know that web submission ( especially FREE web submission ) is a tedious work and the results are not instant..meaning that you'll have to wait a bit until your link is submitted and you receive traffic to your blog..or site, whatever you're promoting.
But still, you need traffic. And at this moment, maybe you can't afford spending 100s of dollars for search engine submission or search engine optimization. You'd like to list your blog/site in a couple of directories, but there are way too many to simply submit to each one of it.
What you need now is a bit of automation of this submission process. What you need now is a Directory Submitter software. Where to get one? And especially, where to get one for FREE? One that has enough directories where you can submit your site/blog for FREE..
Well, in case you've missed that " Directory Submitter " software line, then probably you didn't noticed that you can click on those 2 words ( Directory and Submitter ) and go to a site that offers this kind of software for free! Yeah, you read that correctly: FREE. All you have to do is to click on a green button, input your first name and primary e-mail address in a submission form, click the "OK" button and then you can download it. Very easy task :)
This software has about 350 different directories where you're site or blog can be submitted at.
If you decide to upgrade the software ( there's such an option ), you can do that whenever you want ( and whenever you have some money to spend on that upgrade, of course ) and you'll get even more directories for your site to be submitted. The upgrade is NOT mandatory and the download is free, with no strings attached. The software is not a trial offer or a limited usage program. You can use it any time to submit your site or blog.
Some of those directories offer FREE link submission, while others offer either PAID submission only or PAID and FREE submission together.
I recommend you to watch the 2 minutes and 42 seconds movie that shows you how to work with the software. It is easy to work with it, but first you have to watch that instructional movie to be sure you're not going to be confused.
To download the Directory Submitter, please click here -> Directory Submitter free software
NOTE: I almost forgot to tell you: you can make money giving away this program. Just check the website for more details. Also, if you need an Article Directory submission software, take a look at the same site. They offer a free software to help submit all your articles to about 85 article directories sites. This soft can also by upgraded, to get even more directories for submission ( again, upgrading is mandatory and can be done anytime you want ). Article Directory is free, with no strings attached and no trial offers. And yes, you're right: this can be sold too, and you can make money giving it away! More details about this 2 products can be found at this site.
Happy submission!

Pay Per Click advertsing: definition, tips and advice

PPC stands for Pay Per Click advertising, which is one of the most popular advertising techniques on the Internet. This involves sponsored links that are usually in the form of text ads. It are placed close to search results, where an advertiser pays a certain amount of money to visitors that click that text ad or banner and land on the advertiser's page.
PPC advertising is all about bidding for the top positions and for the best spots in the search engines results pages (SERPs ). Advertisers are engaged in a constant "battle" of biddings, knowing that top spots will be achieved only by those that bid higher ( and wiser ) than his competitors. By obtaining such a top spot in searches, means that your ad will be seen and click be more and more people, you'll get more and more traffic and visitors to your site and will make more money ( even though, sometimes more traffic doesn't translates in to higher earnings ).
There are also other names or variations under which PPC advertising is known:
- Pay per placement
- Pay per ranking
- Pay per position
- Pay per performance
- Cost per click ( CPC )
Which are the steps of starting a PPC advertising campaign? Take a look below:
- Setting up an account and/or adding some funds
- Creating a keyword list
- Choosing an account with a PPC search engine
- Bidding on the ad placement
- Writing up an ad copy
- Setting up the landing pages for your ad
- Placing the advertisement in the search engine
The benefits of PPC advertising:
- PPC advertisement are launched fast. It can go live on the web in just about an hour after you win and pay for the placement.
- This kind of advertisements provide you with the traffic you want and you need, that being targeted traffic.
- PPC ads provide you with some additional traffic, aside from those that is provided in an "organic" manner by search engines.
- PPC advertising makes use of a tracking system that will determine what a visitors does once it arrives on your webpage: the length of their stay on the site, the number of pages they view, and also it determines how many visitors are seeing your website.
Before starting a PPC advertising campaign, here are some things you should consider:
- Know your product or service that you offer to your potential customers ( the most important thing before doing anything else ).
- Maintain your daily budget at a certain limit, and avoid those bidding wars, if it appears.
- Bid just right. You have to know how ti bid for your top spot: too much money could exhaust your advertising budget, while too little cash would cause you the lose of it.
- Measure the profit you're making through this PPC campaign, with your expenses. Be sure to stop at the right moment and terminate it, if things are not going the way you hoped ( not enough sales, poor performances etc ).
- Decide which keywords or key phrases to bid for. Do some keyword research to determine which are the best for your campaign. Focus tho those keywords that are specific to your site, not to the general ones.
- Write an effective ad, to draw in more visitors and spark their interest in what you have to offer them.
- Last, but not least, try to maintain a good website, with quality content, which is updated on a certain basis ( daily, once at 2 days, 3 times/week etc ) and which has also an easy navigation and the right design. There should be no broken links or images, no spelling or grammar mistakes. Contact information should be included on a separate page, so that visitors can contact you if they have further questions.
A properly done PPC advertising campaign is an effective marketing tool that can maximize the return on investment.

A bit of EBay history

EBay..Who doesn't knows what EBay is? Who hasn't visited this website at least one time since he learned about Internet surfing and websites? I'm sure that you know what EBay is about. You've probably even bought or sold something already, there.
But how did EBay appeared? Who created this multi billion dollars website? If you want to know some EBay history, read on.
EBay was born 12 years ago, in september 1995. It was the creation of a guy called Pierre Omidyar, who was living in San Jose. He wanted that his website ( then called "AuctionWeb" ), to be a marketplace where people could sell and buy various items. He wrote the code for the site in one weekend. This site was the single one of its kind in the world at that time. The name of EBay comes from the domain name Omidyar was using for his site. The name of his company was Echo Bay, and EBay AuctionWeb was just a part of the company, which had the website called ebay.com.
The first thing ever sold on the website was Omidyar's broken laser pointer, for which he got 14$.
The website quickly became massively popular, and sellers were coming to list all sorts of odd items for sale. And the buyers were actually buying all this oddities. The site was designed from its beginning to collect a small fee for the items that were sold and bought. This fees were used by Omidyar to help paying for website's maintenance and expansions. Soon, this fees started to add up to his revenue and his salary, so he decided to quit his current job and work full-time at his own home business. In 1996, Omidyar added feedback facilities to the website, to help sellers and buyers rate each other and make buying and selling activities much safer.
In 1997, Pierre Omidyar changed AuctionWeb's name, along with his company's name, in to EBay and created the website's logo. He also started to invest a lot of money in advertising and this was the year when the one-millionth item was sold ( a toy version of Big Bird, from Sesame Street ).
In 1998, the year of the dotcom boom, EBay really became one of the most powerful businesses and one of the most powerful online marketplace, where people could sell and buy anything, no matter how big or small was. The dotcom boom encouraged people to buy and sell more, that's what made EBay be prosperous. This website survived to the dotcom boom, while other sites didn't..and it's still going strong today, too.
1999 saw Ebay launching worldwide: UK, Australia and Germany. Also, Ebay bought half.com, an Amazon-like retailer, in 2000 - in the same year, it introduced Buy it Now - and bought PayPal, the well known online payment service, in 2002.
Pierre Omidyar has earned from EBay 'til now 3 billion dollars and he still is the Chairman of the Board. There are now millions and millions of items bought and sold every day on Ebay. It is estimated that for every 100 dollars spent online worldwide, 14$ are spent on Ebay...which means a lot of laser pointers :)
That's the story of Ebay's birth and evolution. If you always wanted to know how all this started, now you've found out. For those who want to see Pierre Omidiar's blog, please visit http://pierre.typepad.com or http://www.omidyar.net.

Major blog changes

I'm very sure that the first thing you'll see when you'll visit my blog is that I've made some changes..some big changes. Lately, a lot of bloggers changed the look of their blogs, and I'm sure that they will change it again, when they'll feel the need of a fresh look. But who made major changes in the blogoshpere? Well, the most known blogger, John Chow, recently changed his blog's template. He was bored of his old one and so he decided to make a change. The old template used by John was "stuck" at 12,500$/month in revenue. Now, by using his new and improved template, that has 10 additional advertising spots, his income will significantly increase.
Also, Darren, from Problogger.net made a change, getting himself a new template. Last, but not least, the guy behind Webtalks made a change of look to his blog too.
So, if all this guys changed the way their blogs look, then I've decided that is time to change the way this blog looks and navigates. I spent my entire day looking for an interesting template, and I've finally found one at JackBook.com, and I really liked it. So, because this template is very different from the one used before, which was a 3 columns one ( this is a 4 columns template, as you can clearly see ), the way the blocks are displayed in columns has dramatically changed. I've rearranged it all and some were eliminated..for good.
The content has not changed, by the way. It remained the same. Only 2 or 3 posts have been deleted due to various reasons: the post about Obeus, because this site really disappointed me with all its technical problems and the post about Gold Words - poor earning performances, not too many clicks received on the ads I was serving. The rest of the content remained unchanged, so you can still find some of the older posts created by me. Just use the archive to browse to it.
Those readers or visitors of this blog were used to the old template and with the old columns arrangement and may find the new look a bit confusing.
It is not confusing at all. The only difference between the new and the old template is that the boxes with different ads and widgets were relocated. And yes, some were eliminated, but this is no reason to be confused. Just look carefully at this blog's design and at the way the boxes are now arranged, and I'm sure you'll remember the place where a widget or ad box is located, for further visits.
If you like my new design, I'll create a voting poll with 2 simple answers: YES and NO. All you have to do is to vote. YES, for liking this design, or NO, for not liking this design. Pretty simple :)
Thanks for taking time to read this post. Do not forget to subscribe to this blog, via RSS feed or via e-mail, to receive the latest news from My PPC Advertising. This blog is not just about pay per click advertising. I'm constantly looking to add other interesting subjects, so be sure to stay updated.
Once again, thanks for visiting and take care of yourselves :)

Please read this post

First of all, I'd like to thank those who warned me that my blog has some problems displaying it's content. This problems were reported by some LinkReferral visitors, that tried to rate my blog, but after doing that, they told me that the content wasn't loading.
What happened with my blog? Well, nothing bad, fortunately. The main problem of its slow response was created by the Obeus ads code ( once again, Obeus creates problems ). This time, I've decided that I should quit serving any Obeus ads on this blog. There were too many downtimes lately at Obeus .com, and this made my blog load slow or act abnormal. So, from today on, there won't be any Obeus ads on My PPC Advertising. I've removed all the ads codes and all my Obeus referrals link, along with an early post about this site. Since almost no visitors clicked those ads, I figured that it's time for Obeus to go. I'm still an affiliate at Obeus.com, but I'll not serve this kind of ads again, because I'm fed up with all this downtime-uptime thing. I do understand that nothing is perfect and that websites do have downtime periods, but I do not like this to happen so often, like it happens with Obeus. No more Mr. Nice Guy when it comes about Obeus. If they would have more reliable servers or a more reliable hosting service, I'd have no problem at all to continue with them. But I can't tolerate too much this poor performances showed by Obeus website.
If you would still like to give it a try with this monetization resource, I don't mind at all. But my opinion is that you'll waste your time with it, with so many downtimes. I'm not promoting this ppc resource no more, so you won't be able to join from this blog. Instead, you can visit the Obeus website yourself by typing Obeus.com in your browser's address bar ( and hope that the website will be up and running at that time ).
Also, the Gold-Words ads have been removed too, due to its poor performances ( I've made no money with it, so again, I thought that it's time to quit using it ). The post about Gold-Words was removed and any referral link to the GW website was also deleted. This ppc website won't be promoted no more either. For those who still want to test Gold-Words, please visit their website, at Gold-Words.net.
NOTE: If this blog will still load a little bit slow than it should be, please be patient, because sometimes may take a couple of seconds for the content and banners to fully be loaded. And, yes, please don't hurry and report me that the blog has no content or is not loading. If you're not going to wait until everything is loaded properly, then I'm sure you will believe that I have no content on the blog or that something is wrong with it. Thanks for understanding.

Amasense Ads

What are the Amasense Ads? Well, Amasense Ads are Google Adsense styled ads, but which are related to Amazon.com products.
How can I use those ads and how can I make money? First of all, you need to sign up for AmasenseAds.com. Signing up is easy and free. As far as I remember, I think that there's an one time offer page that appears after you register at AmasenseAds. It is not mandatory to pay for that one time offer and also you'll not be charged for using the AmasenseAds.com website. Once you are logged in to your account, you can start creating ads, create the HTML code to embed this ads on your blog or website, and then place the code on your blog and make money.
You don't need to know any programming or any geeky stuff to embed the HTML code on a site or blog. You just select the colors of the ads block, the type of the block ( wide skyscraper, full banner, half banner, leader board etc ), the category of products from Amazon.com and then press a button to instantly get the code that has to be embedded into your blog or website. Additionally, you can check a small box before creating the HTML code, if you want your ads to open in a new window when it are clicked by a visitor.
Even though this ads look like Google Adsense ads, they do not interfere with this ads, because are not contextually based ads and can be used along Adsense ads, without the worry of breaking any Google rule.
How will I get paid? This ads are not like Adsense, meaning that you won't be paid per click, but per action.
Per action? What's that? Per action means that the visitor who clicked the ad will have to buy a product from Amazon.com in order for you to be paid. And yes, you have to be a member of Amazon too, in order to make money with this ads. Signing up as an Amazon associate is also free and easy ( there are no one time fees or any charges for registering ). Just visit Amazon.com and see more details about being an associate.
Ok. But how do I combine Amazon products with AmasenseAds.com ads? It's simple. Once you are a member of those websites, you have to login to your Amazon account, look for your Amazon associate ID, which should be something like "defohq-20 " ( this is my affiliate ID ), copy it and then paste it into your Amasense Ads account. After you've done that, you can start earning money. You'll be paid by Amazon.com, for selling their products ( such as books, electronics, DVDs, music CDs and more ). You can also be paid by Amasense Ads, too, if you refer other people to their website.
If you'd like to sign up for AmasenseAds.com or want to know more about this money making opportunity, please click here -> AmasenseAds.com.
Also, don't forget to visit the Amazon website too. To do so, please click here -> Amazon.com.
NOTE: The above associate ID is an example. It is my own associate ID. Your ID will be different, depending on how you choose to call it. But all the associates IDs will have the "-20" ending. To know why is this ending used, please refer to the Amazon website.

Some updates for previous posts

Yesterday I've created 2 posts on my blog, after a 3 or 4 days break. As I was telling you in the first post, about internet connection problems, that I wasn't able to post or access my blog during the time my internet connection failed to work. So, all I've done during this forced blogging break, was to play some computer games, going out in the city with my friends or watch TV.
I've thought that I've solved those internet problems yesterday, but it wasn't true. Once again, my broadband internet connection failed to work last night. That really pissed me off, because I didn't knew what was happening. So, I thought that there's only one thing left to do: to reinstall my Windows XP. And that's what I've done, for about an hour and a half.
After I've installed the operating system, I wanted to see if the connection works properly. And it did. Since last night, I had no other problems regarding my internet access. And I'm sure that there won't be any other conflicts from my connection again. Probably the main cause of this abnormal functioning was created by a virus or by some registry malfunctioning, which made things go weird.
Now I have another antivirus installed, a firewall and an antispyware program, to protect my PC from this kind of threats, such as viruses or malwares.
So, this problem is solved...
Now, let's get to the second problem encountered yesterday, too. After I've logged into my Blogger account and made those 2 posts, I wanted to preview my blog, to see if everything was displaying correctly.
Immediately after accessing my blog's web address ( http://myppcadvertising.blogspot.com ), I've seen a problem: the Obeus ads blocks weren't displaying at all. Again, I've thought that the problem may be caused by me. I've considered that I scrambled the HTML code for the ads blocks, and that's why it weren't displaying.
So I've copied and pasted the correct code again, and previewed my blog once again. No improvements..Then I realized that this time is not my fault. I've checked other blogs that were using Obeus as income source and there was the same problem: the blocks weren't displaying at all. Instead, in the places where there should have been blocks, there was just a white, blank and empty space.
Conclusion: the guys from Obeus were probably working at the code at that time, or they were undergoing some maintenance work to their website.
The problem was fixed ( I think that today..or may be later last night ) and now the blocks are displaying correctly, as they should.
So, number 2 problem solved, too :D. Which is so good, because I really hate it when this kind of problems pop up in my way. It are annoying and it really piss my off.
From now on, because I've managed to put an end to my connection problems, I'll start posting on a daily basis, as before. Be sure you check this blog as often as you can. If you have no time to do a full check of the posts I've made, it's recommended that you bookmark my blog or subscribe to it, either via RSS feed or via e-mail.
Thanks for visiting and have a nice day. :)

Obeus ads code not working

Yup, the Obeus HTML code for ads blocks is not working...momentarily. So, you too may notice that my " Ads by Obeus " box, form the left side column of this blog, is empty. I don't know what's causing this problem, but I'm pretty sure that the guys from Obeus will solve it as soon as possible.
Probably the problem is caused by some changes that they are making to the ads code, or probably they are having some maintenance to do to the HTML code.
Currently, I'm not earning too much with Obeus ( or with any of the advertising agencies that I use on this blog ), but I would like that this HTML code problem to be solved ASAP, because I really don't like to see that empty space where the Obeus ads appeared until now.
When I saw this problem first, I thought that maybe I've scrambled the codes somehow and now that's why aren't working. So, I've copied and pasted the correct codes again, but the ads didn't show up, when I previewed my blog.
To be sure that the problem is not from me, I've searched for other blogs that use Obeus.com ads as monetization resource and there was the same problem: no ads were displaying where it should be displaying..just some empty spaces ( like the one I have on my blog ).
So, I guess I'll have to wait for this problem to be fix by the staff from Obeus.com. I'll announce you when the codes are working again and when ads can be displayed. Until then, don't forget to check the other advertising agencies that I recommend, to monetize your website or blog.
You can see banners and links of those agencies posted in " Monetize your Blog " box, on the left side column of this blog. Click on any of those banners and sign-up. Don't waste your advertising space; use it to make money:)

Internet connection problems

I'm glad that I finally managed to create a post on my blog. The last time I've updated it was about 4 days ago. I know it's a long time since then, but it wasn't my fault for not updating this blog. I had some problems with my broadband internet connection, which failed to work since 29.08.2007 'till today ( and I'm not sure if it will work from now on too well, but I hope it will ).
First, I thought that the problem was created by an antivirus or anti-spyware program that I use on my computer. So, I've deactivated those programs and tried again..but no luck. Next, I've scanned the computer for viruses, spywares and errors, thinking that this may be the source of my connection's failure. Again, the results were the same as before: I could connect to the Internet, but the traffic generated was too low to access any web page or to sign in on Yahoo Messenger.
Then, I've decided that is time to call my ISP ( Internet Service Provider ), to come and check their equipments that they've installed in the apartments complex I live in.
They came today, checked everything, also checked my computer and said that the connection is working properly and that their equipments are ok too.
Everything worked fine, indeed..but only for 5 minutes or so, because immediately after the guys from the ISP company left, the connection started to act as before. I didn't called them again, because I knew that the problem couldn't be from their company's hardwares.
Right now, the connection is working just fine, but I don't know if the problems are over. If this situation will persist, the only thing left for me is to reinstall my operating system again ( which is Windows XP ). The problems may also be generated by an abnormal functioning of the system.
I'll monitor this problem closely and see what will happen. I cannot guarantee that this blog will be updated daily as it was before, until I solve all the problems created by my broadband internet connection. Still, you should come and visit it, because I have made a lot of interesting posts and you may find them useful.
Once everything is ok, I'll start updating this blog on a daily basis. Till then, have a nice day and take care of yourselves.
